SAMKIN FOUNDATION is involved in dynamic community projects :
Training and Mentorship Programs, Economic Empowerment and Social Welfare Support.
An overview of core program is included below.
TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP.
Lack of adequate knowledge and training leads to lost opportunities. Towards this end, Samkin Foundation aims at empowering its stakeholders and facilitating the opportunities to understand, capture and use available information and knowledge to add value to their lives.
The activation of this initiative takes various approaches including :
Training our groups on how to manage themselves and even their finances. We have our facilitator Mr Stephen who trains the groups. We have had successful trainings and groups development that have developed the group self management.
Our host community is made up of the aged, and the young, living in an informal settlement.
Many are vulnerable and disadvantaged in terms of income generating activities. This means, poverty and its manifestation such as low schooling, nutritional issues, health, poor living conditions, are the norm.
Samkin Foundation has identified various community needs, that can be supported to enhance the general welfare of community.
One critical area of need identified is continuous availability of safe and clean water.
